‘The Five Dysfunctions of a Team’

Teams may dysfunction and hinders progress. Here are 7 simplified lessons from the book “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” by P. Lencioni.
👉🏻 : Trust is the foundation of teamwork: It is like building blocks. Trust must be the first layer to create a strong and effective team. How much do you trust your team members and leaders?
👉🏻: Embrace healthy conflict: Well, this actually refers to healthy debates. It allows for differing perspectives to be evaluated and should result in better decisions. So, it’s all about “What’s right, NOT who’s right!”
👉🏻 : Commit to decisions and plans: Commitment ensures that team members are dedicated to the team, goals and objectives. Which one leads to the other; Commitment vs. Discipline?!
👉🏻 : Increase accountability: Accountability ensures that team members are responsible and committed to their roles and responsibilities. How accountable can you be if you don’t feel trusted?!
👉🏻 : Focus on results: Have your finish line visible. A strong team keeps the end goal in sight and works together to achieve it. What can help you to do this?
👉🏻 : Seek out and value diverse perspectives: Imagine a colourful mosaic. A diverse range of perspectives can create a beautiful and strong final product. Who is not in agreement?!
👉🏻: Continuously improve and evolve: Have you seen a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly? a team should constantly adapt, evolve, and improve in order to achieve greater results. See point 5 above!
We can overcome the dysfunctions that often hinder progress and success, and instead work together towards a common goal to achieve better results. Focus on “What is Right, NOT Who is Right!”.
