‘From The Flight Deck’

A lot of lessons can be learnt from Aviation industry. Important lessons should also be learned the flight deck where a lot of hard and soft skills are blended to give us a nice and a safe flight. Here are 7 lessons “From the Flight Deck” by Doug Morris.
👉 1: Prioritise safety first 🛡️: Prioritising safety first is like wearing a helmet while riding a bike 🚴♀️, so let’s, promote wearing a helmet more than thinking about preparing the medicine and protecting ourselves and others. How much is the cost of the safety, by the way?
👉 2: Communicate clearly & effectively 🗣️: Like in almost every textbook, communicating clearly and effectively is important. Using words to convey your message has never been enough.
👉 3: Embrace teamwork 🤝: this is resembled by a team rowing a boat 🚣♂️, each member must work together to reach the shared goal. What’s the shared goal by the way?
👉 4: Always be prepared 🎯: Being prepared is like carrying an umbrella ☂️, anticipating the rain and taking precautionary measures. But don’t forget to be resilient! That’s another important skill by itself.
👉 5: Adapt to change 🌀: well, not necessarily you become like a lizard🦎, but we sometimes need to adjust our behaviour to fit different situations. You see, again don’t forget to be resilient!
👉 6: Be disciplined 🧘: Most domains have to learn this from aviation industry. Aviation is so regulated. Being disciplined is like practicing yoga 🧘, regulating your actions and emotions to achieve a calm and focused mindset. Well, that’s a bit over imagined, but I am sure you got the idea. All dimensions of aviation industry is surrounded with discipline.
👉 7: Continuously learn and improve 📚: Continuously learning and improving is like being a student 👩🎓, seeking knowledge and developing new skills to adapt to the changing world. They say: “The best pilot is the one who never stops learning”.
In summary, we all can accomplish our goals while maintaining a focus on safety, clear communication, and continuous learning. 🏆
